r/synology - Please help me validate my DS pick for my So, my first thought was to get them a Synology, because I heard that many people found it very easy to use and that it had a good ecosystem. Problem: i don't own a Synology DS myself, so i am unable to test any of the stuff i read, if it actually works for this particular use case. Is the Synology DS420+ NAS good for Plex 4K playback? Best answer: Synology DS420+ can technically stream 4K media to compatible devices; just don't go and try to do some serious transcoding to multiple devices.
